Electrical Safety Council Survey
Between 2006 and 2016, the Electrical Safety Council has issued various figures highlighting Britain's knowledge of electrical safety. Some of these figures are staggering and prove why a fully qualified electrician must always be employed to deal with anything except the most basic electrical tasks.
Do not risk lives and property through cost-cutting. Electrocution and house fires are far more common than they should be - mainly as a result of some unqualified DIY work.

Percentage of those surveyed who did not know that their electrics should be checked at least every 10 years
Percentage of consumers surveyed who stated they had never had their electrics checked
